Paytm Announces New CEO to Lead Middle East Operations

Ramana Kumar brings over 20 years of leadership experience.

Paytm, a Noida-based digital payments and financial services company, has named Ramana Kumar as the CEO of its Middle East operations.

According to a company news release, Kumar brings over two decades of experience in fintech, payments and banking. Prior to joining Paytm, he was the founding CEO of Magnati, a payments company in the United Arab Emirates, and previously led payments and digital banking at First Abu Dhabi Bank. 

In his new role, Kumar will spearhead Paytm’s growth in the Middle East, focusing on developing localized payment solutions to meet the region’s specific needs.

“We welcome Ramana, who has built a formidable merchant payments business in the UAE. We aim to serve the region by building and bringing strong regional leadership, backed by our proven technology,” Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CEO of Paytm, said in a statement.
